Making Progress Together: How We’re Fighting Hunger in Our Communities This Holiday Season

As the holiday season approaches, many of us look forward to warm meals and time spent with loved ones. But for countless individuals and families in our communities, food insecurity remains a daily challenge – one that becomes even more pressing during the holidays.

At Progress, we believe that creating community means more than providing housing. It means caring for the people who live in our neighborhoods too. That’s why we’re proud to launch the Progress Pantry Food Drive and Progress Pantry Day, two initiatives aimed at supporting those facing food shortages this season.

Progress Pantry Food Drive

Nationwide, our team members are collecting non-perishable, shelf-stable food items to help stock the shelves at local food banks. Every can, box and jar donated helps ensure that individuals and families in need have access to nutritious meals.

Progress Pantry Day

As a hands-on way to support local communities, Progress team members are volunteering to sort, pack and distribute food at local food banks and pantries. Our hope is that their time and compassion will make a real difference in someone’s life this holiday season.

Each core Progress market is also donating $1,000 to a local Feeding America affiliate or community food bank to help provide meals and resources for families who need them most. We’re proud to partner with these organizations to make a meaningful difference in the places our residents call home.

Why It Matters

Food security is deeply connected to housing stability. As a housing provider, Progress understands that supporting communities means going beyond bricks and mortar but also showing up for the people who call those places home. Together, we can help ensure that no one in our community is hungry during this holiday season. Let’s fill plates, hearts and homes – together!

How You Can Help

If you – or someone you know – needs support, or if you would like to help in your own local community, we’ve put together a list of resources near the areas we serve.
