Winter Car Emergency Kit

Snow and sleet can create dangerous driving conditions. Plan ahead by making sure your vehicle is equipped before a problem occurs.

Throughout the year, it’s extremely important to perform routine maintenance checks on your car’s battery, belts, hoses, radiator, lights, breaks, wipers and fluid levels. In winter especially, there are a few additional items you’ll want to add to your basic car emergency kit.

Basic Emergency Kit:

  • Spare tire
  • Tire repair kit and gauge
  • First aid kit
  • Bottled water
  • Nonperishable snacks
  • Jumper cables
  • Flashlight
  • Road Flares
  • Gloves

Winter Emergency Kit:

  • Ice scraper
  • Blanket
  • Snow shovel
  • Bag of sand or kitty litter
  • Batteries
  • Tire chains

Some cold weather climates may also deem snow tires necessary. If you find yourself stranded, be safe, stay in your car, put on your flashers, call for help and wait until it arrives.
