This Thanksgiving, you can impress your family and friends with a gorgeous tablescape, one that will provide the perfect space for everyone to remember all that they are thankful for. We hope these creative ideas and themes will help inspire you when decorating your own table.
Instead of a placemat or charger under your plates, opt for rustic wood slices. For the centerpiece, gather a few pinecones, sprigs of greenery and smaller pieces of wood to place underneath candles. If you’d like to assign seating, you could even incorporate wooden place card holders.
Skip the tablecloth and use a big piece of butcher paper! You can draw each guest’s name instead of using a place card, and you can also leave a spot next to each plate where the guest can write what he or she is thankful for. Depending on your calligraphy skills, you could also attempt adding a big “Give Thanks” to each side of the table, as shown below.
Whether you live by the beach or not, you can add a nautical touch to your thanksgiving table. Incorporate the turquoise or seafoam green color in the small plates, candles and napkins, and then place it all on top of a beige table runner or tablecloth. Lastly add some driftwood and shells as the centerpiece, along with a few white pumpkins. White pumpkins and starfish make for a surprisingly seamless combination.
Farmhouse meets modern in this gorgeous tablescape inspiration. Place copper or gold candlesticks, napkin rings and metallic-lined chargers on top of a burlap or beige linen tablecloth. Lastly, add a lush green garland along with a copper or metal tray full of orange, white and green pumpkins. Congratulations, you have achieved tablescape perfection.
Dark plates, gold tableware and subtle greenery – yes please! This romantic table incorporates a bold colored small plate (black, navy or dark purple is ideal), gold cutlery and gold candles, along with a DIY place card, which can be as simple as a sprig of pine and a small piece of butcher paper. Continue the color scheme with a neutral gray or navy napkin and a beige table runner.
Simple and Natural
There’s something so beautiful about a traditional table that incorporates natural elements. Start with a plain white tablecloth, then add woven brown chargers, white plates and white napkins with a neutral colored napkin holder. For the pumpkin centerpiece, you can either create one modeled after the image below or find one at Michaels or another home goods store that has a similar combination of natural elements.
