How To

Garage Organization and Storage Ideas

One of the benefits of renting a home is having all the space you need – especially in the garage. Make the best use of this space with these easy storage and organization tips!

Purge Unnecessary Items
The garage can become the dumping ground for things you don’t have room for elsewhere. Things to keep in the garage are your toolbox, power tools, landscaping materials and sports equipment. In other words, it’s time to let go of the 10-year-old holiday decorations you no longer use and boxes of items you keep meaning to donate.

Organize and Relocate
Once you’ve gotten rid of the clutter and unwanted belongings, it’s now time to think about the best way to organize what you have left. For example, there should be nothing loose and out of place in the garage; each item should have a home, whether it’s on a shelf or in a labeled plastic tote basket. If you have things that would be better suited in maybe the laundry room or a hall closet, do your best to find space for them there.

Invest in Shelves and Bins
If your garage is lacking cabinetry and storage, there are a lot of additional shelving options to choose from.
