Summer Safety Tips

With all the fun and excitement of summer vacations, it’s easy to forget basic practices that will keep your family safe and healthy.

Follow these tips to ensure your summer is problem-free and filled with fun, sunshine and relaxation!

If you plan on traveling over the summer, be sure to prepare your home before you leave. Unplug electronic items, adjust your thermostat, lock all windows and doors, and leave instructions for someone to care for your landscaping, pool services (if applicable), and mail. If you can, prevent posting on social media that you are out of town. Thieves look for times when you will not be home.

Fun in the Sun
Keep harmful UV rays at bay by using sunscreen with an SPF of at least 30. Be sure to apply it liberally and every few hours as directed by the instruction label. You’ll also want to drink plenty of water and wear protective clothing like long sleeve shirts, pants, sunglasses and hats.

Water Safety
Never leave children or pets unattended around water. Use caution around the pool as surrounding area may be wet. If swimming in a public pool, abide by all posted rules. Contact your local office if your pool shows signs of discoloration or other problems. Please avoid putting in your own chemicals.

For questions, please contact your local Progress Residential® Property Management office. In the event of an emergency, contact 911 immediately.
