Essentials for an Awesome Road Trip

Ah, road trips! The wind in your hair, the thrill of the unpredictability and endless opportunity. However, getting stranded without a spare tire in your trunk or snacks in the backseat, could put a damper on the fun. That’s why we’ve gathered a list of everything you will need to make your road trip the ultimate adventure.

License and registration
May seem obvious, but imagine forgetting it and getting pulled over. Yikes!

Spare Tire
Keep a tire pressure gauge in your glove compartment to make sure the air pressure is at the right level, and make sure you have a tire repair patch just in case you get a nail. In the event of a blow out, you’ll have the spare.

Paper Maps
If Waze or Google Maps lets you down because you’re without cell service, you’ll be glad you have a backup plan.

First Aid Kit and Band-Aids
We hope you don’t need it – but bring it just in case.

Your road trip companion will thank you as they take a nap and it’s your turn to drive.

Water Bottles
Seriously – bring a whole case, or two.

Snacks, snacks and more snacks makes for an awesome, not “hangry” road trip. We suggest things with easy cleanup like individual snack packs, nuts and pretzels.

Phone chargers
We suggest bringing chargers for both the car and the wall. Those navigation and music apps will drain your phone.

Hand Sanitizer
Gas stations, rest stops and the like will have you hankering for freshly sanitized hands.

Tide to Go Instant Stain Remover
This is a real life saver when you’re doing the whole eating-a-burrito-while-driving thing.

If you haven’t discovered this already, the sun can and will burn you through the windows and one side of your body may get the brunt of it.

Nail clipper and file
It would be unfortunate to get a hang nail that is driving you crazy while traffic is also driving you crazy.

You will never regret throwing an umbrella in the trunk. Sudden rainstorms can really put a damper on things.

Clothes for the unexpected
You never know if the temperature will change or if you’ll take a detour. As such, bring a sweater, rain jacket or hiking boots to make sure you’re prepared no matter what.
