One of the best things about renting a Progress Residential® home is that a majority of the homes we offer our residents are located in communities that feature a variety of amenities! From resort-style pools and robust recreation centers, to state-of-the-art tennis courts and new playgrounds, we do our best to carefully select well-maintained homes in vibrant and welcoming communities.
Whether you’re more of the take a stroll around the park type of person, or one that loves a competitive game of sand volleyball, we are suggesting a few ways to make the most of these amazing community amenities!
Grab a couple sandwiches and head to the community park for an afternoon picnic! Many community parks include trails for walking, biking or even rollerblading – don’t worry, we won’t judge your circa 1999 rollerblades. You are also likely to find a playground, or a few, which the littlest residents in your family are sure to enjoy.
Community pools, which in some cases also include spas and splash pads, would be the perfect place to host your new party or event! Invite friends and family over for a pool party, and if the community allows, you may be able to rent out the clubhouse or recreation center as well. Just be sure to check with your HOA prior to a party.
Sport courts (tennis, basketball, volleyball)
Dig out your old tennis racquet from high school, or stop by a sporting goods store to score a new one, and take advantage of the beautiful tennis courts that can be found in many of our HOA communities. If you don’t want to channel your inner Serena or Venus Williams, perhaps you’d rather visit the basketball court to hold your own “Knockout” tournament. Some communities even feature sand volleyball courts, perfect for an intense match or a more casual game, depending on whether you opt for a beach ball or the real thing. You could really take it to the next level if you set up a tournament bracket for your sport of choice, a great way to meet your fellow neighbors!
Get to know your neighbors
Speaking of meeting your fellow neighbors, we suggest checking to see if there are local groups on Facebook or other forum websites for your community! This way, you’ll be aware of upcoming events, community news and even garage sales in your area.
Know the rules
Ultimately, the most important key to enjoying your HOA community is understanding all of the rules and regulations. Some neighborhoods have strict guidelines on street parking, landscaping and waste disposal that you’ll want to know in order to maintain violation fees.
