Thanksgiving is around the corner and while there are some who are making sure they have the best recipes ready, others are thinking forward to the early morning lines of Black Friday.
Shopping on Black Friday has become an art, and can be overwhelming if you don’t know how to handle it. Here is a list of a few tips to make sure you get the best deals:
- Do your research!
Don’t get lost in the Black Friday rush with no idea where you are going or what you want. There are many different avenues to research which stores have the best deals. Newspapers are packed full of ads, but you can also do your research online on sites like blackfriday.com where they list all local ads in one place.
- Set a budget
It’s easy to get surrounded by all the deals in a store and start going “buy crazy”, but to protect your funds set a budget for yourself and stick to it. Both you and your wallet will be happy.
- The best deals go early
People camp out overnight to be in the front of the line to get the best big ticket items, like TVs. Be prepared to get to a store very early if you are looking to buy one of these items.
- Shop online
70% of Black Friday deals can be bought online via sites like Amazon, Best Buy and Target. This way you can stay in your PJs and still get good deals.
- Shop smart and stay safe
Every year there are horror stories on the news. There is no deal worth risking harm to yourself, or someone else. Enjoy the thrill of deal hunting, but know it is not the end of the world if the item you were looking for is sold out.
